During our recent session – Manual Therapy Approach to Evaluation and Treatment of Common Lower Extremity Injuries, we discussed how each part of the lower extremity into pelvis and trunk need to function properly and in a coordinated manner. Failure of this process can lead to most of the lower extremity injuries with which patients present, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, and patellar tendinitis – just to name a few.
This class, held at The Exchange Office Building in Towson, on April 29-30, 2023 reviewed the anatomy, biomechanics, and pathomechanics of the region. Methods to evaluate whether each part of the lower extremity were properly functioning in an independent manner and if all the parts were integrating appropriately were explained. Various treatment techniques to correct any dysfunctions found were then presented and practiced along with how these dysfunctions contribute to lower extremity injuries.
We look forward to discussing a different aspect of manual therapy with our class, Manual Therapy Treatment of the Genitourinary System that will be held on September 30-October 1, 2023.
